Real Audio sample (31 sec)

Deep in the dark a single spark remembers the flame
A part of the heart that never gave up remembers your name

I knew a man who had to stand in the valley of doom
Who had to die, rise from the ashes in vengeance for you
Vengeance for you

Footsteps falling, voices calling and a deep shade of red
I fell before they tore into you they should be dead instead

And I don't know why but the tears that you shed
Have sweetened the soil where I lie in unrest

Now I am alive and I will not rest
Until all of them pay with their last gasp of breath

The phoenix will rise and the phoenix will fall
But there will always be you as long as the wind shall call

The phoenix will rise and the phoenix will fall
But there will always be you as long as the wind shall call
As long as the wind shall call

Love may not conquer all, but it does keep trying.

The old world called the eagle-like bird  Phoenix. They believed that it lived for hundreds of years and then it would build a nest of scented woods in the boughs of an oak and there breathe its' last in a self consuming fire. From the ashes of this sweet pyre would rise a new Phoenix. It's legend lives in the thin difference between hero and demon. It is a harsh reality that a mere mortal must pick up the sword and do bad things in a good cause. It is a very thin line to walk.
